The Legend of BODYBUILDING

Today we will talk about DEXTER JACKSON or The BLADE. One of the old school bodybuilders still competing. Dexter Jackson's greatness is a given, despite his age, his physique refuses to age. Dexter Jackson is going to go down in history as one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time.

He does not have the most number of Mr. Olympia wins but still, he is the greatest bodybuilders of all time. He has most impressive biceps ever flexed on a stage, but if you’re looking for the key to his biceps here, the secret is there is no secret. He does the same things most of the bodybuilders do.

DEXTER,s BODYBUILDING CAREER

Dexter started competing in 1992 and he just confirmed that he will also be competing in Arnold classic Ohio in 2018. Till date, he has had 26 years of competitive bodybuilding career and he is currently 48 years old and still a top 6 threat to any competition.
So, during his competitive bodybuilding career, he has set a number of records. He has won the most number of bodybuilding competition than any other bodybuilder. He has won 28 IFBB pro bodybuilding competition and that includes every big and small bodybuilding competition you can imagine of.

Dexter won:
  • 1995 NPC USA Championships, Light-Heavyweight
  • 1998 North American Championships, Light-HeavyWeight
  • 2002 Grand Prix England
  • 2003 Show of Strength Pro Championship
  • 2004 Grand Prix Australia
  • 2004 Ironman Pro Invitational
  • 2004 San Francisco Pro Invitational

  • 2012 IFBB Masters Olympia
  • 2013 Arnold Classic
  • 2013 IFBB Australian Pro Grand Prix

  • 2015 Prague Pro
  • 2016 New York Pro
  • 2016 Arnold Classic South Africa
  • 2016 Arnold Classic Europe
  • 2016 Mr. Olympia Europe
SO, these are the list of Bodybuilding Competition that Dexter Jackson won in his Bodybuilding career. Also, No other competitor is more associated with a contest than the Blade is with the Arnold. And he has also won the most number of Arnold classic that any other Bodybuilder in the history.

Why He is Called 'THE BLADE'?

Dexter Jackson's nickname is 'THE BLADE'  and he got that name for his consistency and his Razor sharp conditioning.
So, that is the thing about Dexter Jackson that he never bulk up in offseason and he never plays size game, he is just very consistent and conditioned in offseason also, he is also very consistent with his diet and never gets too big and that is why he earned the nickname 'THE BLADE'

So, we think after 7 or 8 years when we will talk about Dexter Jackson, he will be the legend of bodybuilding at that time. We know that he has not won the most numbers of Mr. Olympia Titels but still, Dexter Jackson has done the most things for the longest times and set the most records, and that is why he is true asset and legend of Bodybuilding.

How Roelly Winklaar Fixed His Bubble Gut at Mr. Olympia 2018 ?

Egberton Rulove "Roelly" Etienne-Winklaar is a Dutch Bodybuilder also known as Roelly 'The Dutch Beast' Winklaar first came to national prominence in the US with his win at the 2009 IFBB Arnold Amateur Championships. Roelly has always been known for his BIG Heavy Arms but in 2016 he was also known for big 'BUBBLE GUT'. Roelly's waist became so big that his placings got affected and he started to look bad.

How Roelly fixed his gut?

Well, a lot of people are saying that Roelly has been seen wearing a waist trainer, and because of that he lost his gut. And that is true because Roelly brought the same size at this year's Mr. Olympia but his gut was controlled, his arms were big, shoulders were also the same size, but the abdomen area was very small and controlled, so I think it was the waist trainer that did the magic and controlled Roelly's gut and that is why he placed 3rd at this year's Mr.olympia. Roelly placed 6th at Mr. Olympia 2017 but in 2018 due to his controlled gut he placed 3rd, in fact, there was a strong argument that Roelly Winklaar was easily beating Phil Heath and he should have placed 2nd.

Weight Difference

Roelly also lost some weight because after Arnold classic Ohio 2018 he weighed himself and he was 120 kgs, But at the time of Mr. Olympia 2018 his weight was 112 kg approx.
So, his controlled gut was the mixture of waist trainer, some weight loss, and HARD WORK.

Mr Olympia 2018 Phil Heath vs Shawn Rhoden

Mr. Olympia 2018 just wrapped up a few days ago Shawn Rohden became the new Mr Olympia 2018 by defeating the 7X Mr. Olympia  Phil Heath aka 'THE GIFT', but was the judging fair? Let's find out.

1.Front Lat Spread

Well, both are hitting this pose well but still, i will give this pose to Shawn Rohden, his chest looks striated, Phil's chest is also poping but looks little soft.
So, Shawn Rohden wins this pose.

2.Front Double Biceps

This pose no doubt  goes to Shawn Rohden, Shawn hits this pose like a classic physique athlete, Phil, on the other hand, looks a bit soft, his muscles are not tightly pressed seems like he is holding some water and abdominal area of Phil is also not looking good
So, Shawn Rohden wins this pose.

3.Back Double Biceps

Back has been Phil's strongest point, the lats are attached very low that is why muscle definition looks good.Shawn's back doesn't look that conditioned but his hamstrings and glutes look well defined, Phil, on the other hand, his glutes and hamstrings don't look as good as Shawn's, but overall Phil takes this pose
Phil heath wins this pose.

4.Back Lat Spread

Shawn Rohden hits this pose very bad, Phil, on the other hand, Phil has the strongest of back, so, Phil Heath wins this pose easily.
So, Phil Heath wins this pose.

5.Side Triceps

This pose is very difficult to judge because both have their pros and cons.
Phil's triceps are much better than Shawn's triceps but, Shawn's abdomen, hamstrings, and glutes are looking better than Phil's.
So, this pose is a tie.

6.Abs and Thighs

This is the worst pose of the 7X Mr Olympia Phil Heath his abdomen looks very worse, the abdomen is also the weakest part of Phil Heath, on the other hand, Shawn has brought the best abs this year that is the main reason behind his Mr Olympia 2018 win.
Shawn rohden wins this pose.

7.Most Muscular

This pose is Phil's strength but this year due to his abdomen, I think he has lost this pose also, this pose has been Phil's strength over the years but not this year, Shawn Rohden is hitting this like a pro.
but i think Phil could have won this pose if he would have hit like a crab because on that pose his abdomen would have not been visible to judges. But overall Shawn takes this pose

8.Side Chest

Before commenting on this pose just look at Shawn's hamstrings and glutes, they just look WOW.
Phil Heath is also looking good, his chest looks striated but the lower body in this pose is just Shawn's. Phil's triceps are also looking good but again his abdomen is spoiling the pose.
So, overall Shawn takes this pose.

In the end, Shawn takes 5 poses, Phil takes 2 poses and side triceps pose was a tie.
So, Shawn is the clear winner here and also well deserved, Phil's only problem was his gut and some water and I think he can come next year with his controlled gut and win the show and tie with Ronnie Coleman and Lee Haney for 8X Mr Olympia.
